I ran across Momma's myspace site and she has a very interesting idea for fighting the terrorist. As anybody who knows me will attest, this plan is very endearing to me. The only thing better that Momma's plan would be to put them on Fainting Goats.....

Momma's Plan For Fighting Terrorism
a.k.a: The Untapped Natural Resource

As long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by midgets. Black midgets, white midgets, old midgets, young midgets, fat midgets, etc. you get the idea, Momma likes them all. Recently I was watching TV and coming down from a jenkem induced high when a program about midget physiology came on one of the Discovery channels. Among many other fascinating facts, Momma learned that midgets are very strong and can lift heavy objects better than normal people because they are so low to the ground and have better leverage. Think about a midget doing a bench press, he's only got a few inches to lift instead of a few feet! That is when Momma came up with a foolproof plan for fighting terrorists and countries that hate us because we are free; midgets are essential in this venture.
First, we will scour the country for the finest midget stock, and 10,000 of the strongest and most intelligent midgets will be selected and brought to Momma's underground desert compound in Goldfield, Nevada. There, round-robin death match tournaments will be held until only 1000 of the fittest midgets remain. This elite 10% will spend 16hrs a day working out and training in various marshal arts and weapons. After a few years of this they will be harder than granite; they will kill without compunction or hesitation.
So why midgets? Simple, they offer many advantages on the modern battlefield. As mentioned before, they are strong; one super midget could easily carry a wounded comrade under each arm, and one on it's back. Also, they present much less of a target than a six foot person, it's much harder to hit a two to three foot target. Last and most importantly, they present the ability to deal a major blow to the enemy's morale. Imagine the humiliation Al-Qaeda insurgents will suffer as wave after wave of their mujahideen fighters are slaughtered by seemingly innocuous little people. The super midgets will form death squads to eliminate local terrorist sympathizers, real or imagined, thus winning the hearts and minds of the local population.

Rutgers student body shows real class.... NOT!!!!

I find myself really saddened by what College football is becoming. To see what Rutgers Student body did(even a small group of your students still reflect to the rest of us as the student body) in pretty much a blow-out game against Navy pretty much sucked. Let me say for starters that I am a former Marine and a die hard LSU fan so I know a thing or two about the Navy and about unruly fans (LSU fans can get out of control at times) that what happened there is NOT what College Football is about.

Let me explain what I am talking about here. Tiger Stadium, better known as Death Valley, is quite possibly one of the loudest places to play football on earth (Name another stadium who's fans actually recorded an earth moving event) and you have to keep in mind that the SEC does not allow artificial noise makers with the exception of Miss. State and there Cow Bells. Not a fan of any cow bell that Christopher Walken is not a fan of, have to add a little SNL fun. I do believe that if a "small section" of our student section started doing that the rest of the stadium would not let that happen. What happens outside of the stadium all I can say is that if your not wearing purple and gold then I wouldn't stay around very long but that is a whole other issue..

Speaking as a Marine, We always have issues with the Navy, but when it comes to the Navy football team, there are Marines on that team also. It really bothers me that any American would boo service men for any reason at all. To be honest, I could care less if it is war time, Post or Pre 911, night time or day time it should never be aloud to disgrace the uniform. I extend that statement to all people of uniform by the way. Sorry about that, I get off topic from time to time.

Now as bad as what happened at Rutgers, our sport of College Football still has hope. I know that I am biased but look at what happened when the ninth ranked Va-Tech Hokies came to Death Valley:

"LSU paid homage to Virginia Tech and its 32 slain students and faculty members before kickoff of Saturday’s game between the Tigers and Hokies.

"Three paratroopers flew through the pregame rain to deliver a Virginia Tech flag, an LSU flag and an American flag onto the field. Then LSU’s Golden Band from Tigerland performed Virginia Tech’s alma mater in what is believed to be the first time an LSU band has played the opposing team’s school song before a game. The band then played LSU’s alma mater and the national anthem.

"A moment of silence was also held to honor those from Virginia Tech killed in the campus shooting in Blacksburg on April 16. Also honored were former LSU football players Marquise Hill and Dave Peterson who died during the off season."

It should be noted that our fans went on to be just as loud as ever, just as crazy as ever and they did not resort to the type of behavior that happened at Rutgers. I do recall the "overrated" chant that is reserved for all top ranked teams that get blown out. I believe that if the situation was reversed, as it was 2 years ago, that Va-Tech would have shown us the same respect and in the event of a blowout would celebrate the same way.

College football is not and I prey that it never will be pro football. Those guys get paid. If you want to boo the coach, go for it. If you want to support your team, go for it. Here are a few guidelines for being a college football fan:

You don't have to be nice, that would be crazy but you do have to show respect weather it is victory or loss.
Yelling profanities is never, never a good idea in public. If you can't talk smack without using profanities then maybe you shouldn't be at the game.
Act like you've been there before... Understandably, if you haven't been there before we understand when you get a little out of hand.
If you shed your shirt and paint your body with letters to spell some pittances of support then for God's sake, MAKE SURE YOU SPELL CORRECTLY...
and leave those Cow Bells home, I mean your the Bulldogs, what in the heck does that have to do with a cow bell..

Tiger Stadium under the lights....

My favorite time of the year is upon us. The start of football season, namely College Football season... My LSU Tigers started off on a good note putting a 45-0 beat down on Mississippi State in Starkville... I know its a Mississippi school but they are still in the SEC and we did play them there. I do take my hat off to State's D, those guys defiantly showed up to play. Now the offense was a different story. Henig really took them out of the game. We have a tough schedule (everybody in the SEC does) but the silver lining is that the brunt of it does come at home.

Louisiana Superdome....

Were also a week out of the pro game and I'm just as tingly. My Saints sure do look good thus far in the pre-season. Something tells me that this could be a special year for the state of Louisiana... Our schedule leaves something to be desired. We will defiantly have to earn our wins, especially the first 5 games. Looking at the whole schedule I see maybe 4-5 "sure things" and the rest will require the Saints to buck up to get the job done. I'm really glad to see that things back home are starting to look good.(at least on the field of play that is....)

I went to see the Transformer movie and I was a little worried. The Transformers and G.I. Joe are quite possibly my all time favorite universes of all time. I love the X-Men and lot of other story lines, but growing up in Southwest Louisiana (Da Bayou) were we had all of 4 channels to choose from and only got to "town" once a month the Saturday morning cartoons were something we all looked forward too. I was worried that they would somehow not do justice to my childhood hero's. Let me tell you they did. I thought I was going to be upset with the changes to the Autobots as every one has been altered in some way. I was not, the movie is a non stop thrill ride which one would expect from Michael Bay and has a compelling plot line. The story does take a bit of a back seat to the awesome CGI action scenes but not too bad. The fight scene between Optimus and Bonecrusher is one of the best parts of the movie. Frenzy gets a bit old especially his last scene (I was ready for him to get beheaded). My boyfriend begrudgingly came with me (he is not a fan at all) and he had a good time. There was enough humor and plenty of action. I give it 4 thumbs up..(I'm counting my big toes)...

On this most special of all days, what else do I do but go to work.... One would figure that on such a great day as this I would be sitting on the beach with an ice cold margarita watching all the cute boys pass me by. Don't get me wrong, it's not all that bad and we do have big plans tonight.... But all the same, working on this awesome day really bites. I thought at the very least there might be a parade or something of the sort. On the bright side our summer vacation is starting to shape up. It appears that we are going to see Micky and Minnie and all there friends don in Florida. Neither one of us has been so this will be fun if it panes out. Well, I gotta get back to work, enjoy the pics of what my co-workers and big sis had waiting for me at work yesterday....

Drunk dialing rules

1. Only drunk dial when you are drunk. Everything else is false advertisement.

2. It is okay to call someone 27 times in one night. If you don't remember it, it didn't happen.

3. If you are going to drunk dial a family member, say something nice. Example: "Mom I'm in McDonald's and they're playing our song. I love you"

4. Dirty talk while drunk dialing is always preferred. Who doesn't want to hear your best raspy, phone sex voice at 3 in the A.M. asking to bend them over something.

5. Voicemails are always better. This way your friend can let their friends have fun at your expense for days, even weeks to come.

6. Drunk texting is alright... If you are prepared to read what you wrote the next day when you are sober.

7. It is definitely a good idea to call all of your ex's and remind them that you were the best lover they've ever had and everything they know, they learned from you. This way you can sleep well at night.

8. You can also call this same ex and let them know, that you know, that they still love you. Then explain to that you understand because you would still love you too!

9. If you are a frequent dialer, never get mad if someone dials you. Be happy they thought of you in this special time.

10. It is always a good idea to sing on someone's answering machine or voicemail. Especially a show tune.

11. Drunk dialing should be fun and light hearted or dirty and sex crazed... Never angry.

12. Most likely you will never drunk dial your best friends. They are usually the ones taking your phone away and reminding you that "you have a problem".

13. If you deleted a number sober, it was probably for a good reason. Do not try to retrieve this number. Nothing good can come from it.

14. Always call someone you know. Finding random numbers in phone books is bad and usually leads to angry dialing.

15. If your cell phone dies, remember everything happens for a reason. Never borrow a friend's phone to do your dialing.

16. Drunk dialing to foreign country is usually too costly to be a good idea. But if feel like if you don't call this person you'll just die, break rule 15 and use a friend's phone.

17. Drunk dialing may lead to drunk muffin stuffing.... Be prepared.

18. When drunk dialing remember that "hanging out" at 3 in the A.M. usually doesn't involve cards it's probably going to be more like cheap lube and handcuffs. So be prepared when you really do want to play X-box when you're drunk..... "you want me to do what with your box? Play with it?"

19. Don't drunk dial in the pool, tub, or rainstorm. It only ends up with you blow drying your phone when your far to drunk to be using electronics and you wont be able to drunk dial anymore that night.

20. Never, I repeat, never drunk dial your boss, preacher, grandpa, or friend's parents. If you are that hard up to call someone, there is an 800 number on Budweiser boxes. The person on the other line always sounds cute, plus I think they are used to drunk dialers.

UNIX Airways

Everyone brings one piece of the plane along when they come to the airport. They all go out on the runway and put the plane together piece by piece, arguing non-stop about what kind of plane they are supposed to be building.

Air DOS

Everybody pushes the airplane until it glides, then they jump on and let the plane coast until it hits the ground again. Then they push again, jump on again, and so on...

Mac Airlines

All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and ticket agents look and act exactly the same. Every time you ask questions about details, you are gently but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't want to know, and everything will be done for you without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

Windows Air

The terminal is pretty and colourful, with friendly stewards, easy baggage check and boarding, and a smooth take-off. After about 10 minutes in the air, the plane explodes with no warning whatsoever.

Windows NT Air

Just like Windows Air, but costs more, uses much bigger planes, and takes out all the other aircraft within a 40-mile radius when it explodes.

Windows XP Air

You turn up at the airport,which is under contract to only allow XP Air planes. All the aircraft are identical, brightly coloured and three times as big as they need to be. The signs are huge and all point the same way. Whichever way you go, someone pops up dressed in a cloak and pointed hat insisting you follow him. The aircraft will not take off until you have signed a contract. The inflight entertainment promised turns out to be the same Mickey Mouse cartoon repeated over and over again. You have to phone your travel agent before you can have a meal or drink. You are searched regularly throughout the flight. If you go to the toilet twice or more you get charged for a new ticket. No matter what destination you booked you will always end up crash landing at Whistler in Canada.

Linux Air

Disgruntled employees of all the other OS airlines decide to start their own airline. They build the planes, ticket counters, and pave the runways themselves. They charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing the ticket, but you can also download and print the ticket yourself.

When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.html. Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do what with the seat?"

Two weeks since the move.......

Well, it has been two full weeks plus some since the move into our house. Things have settled down quite a bit. We still have some boxes to put away and all but the worst is over. I got my office all set up upstairs and let me say, it looks pretty sweet. We got the blinds installed which in case you haven't had the experience yet, a house that has 20 windows and no blinds or curtains sucks. I've use the whirlpool tub a few times, gotta work on the hot water tank or something as the water turns cold before it fills the tub..... We got ourselves a patio set that has a fire pit in it and the thing liked to smoked us out of the house. My sis told me that there is stuff made to burn in those that do not smoke quite so bad. You live and you learn. I haven't seen as much of John as I would like to since the move. It seams that one of us is always upstairs on the puter. we will have to work on that. Sorry that it has been so long since I have written, will try to do better. Later...

Mac Mini Upgrading......

Hi all... This is my first post as I have just purchased me a mini... 1.83 Ghz Core Duo, but it only had like half a gig of ram.... I got me 2 - 1 gig sticks and was all planning on installing it tomorrow as we were having friends over. Well, 1 drink led to about I can't count and in my drunken state... What the heck... I had already watched the video on OWC 's site... I say to myself, that is easy... Right... So, I had already got myself a couple of 4" putty knife's and I decided it was a sound idea for me not to wait until morning. Long story short, the first time, I left the fan cable off and did not get the second stick all the way in so I cracked the second time. I had seen an earlier post that a guy used some of his kids glue to help with the screws. Those are a real pain and I had some (I joke not) Elmer's glue and used that to make my tools a bit sticky and it worked. The second time I remembered to connect the fan wire and did get the second stick fully inserted. Hey guess what?

I love that the Dixie Chicks basically kicked Ass at the Grammy's. The three of them have been through so much bad stuff, it's really good to see them back on top. I can really give a rats ass that "Main Stream Country" is still harboring some ill conceived grudge, there are loads of peeps like me who don't really live in any "genre" to speak of. I like the music I like and don't really care what type of music that is. Not a big country fan in general, but there are several acts that I love, same could be said for rap and for that matter all types of music. Don't worry girls, you keep doing your thing and I'll keep buying your music.

This Jack Ass Toby Keith has really put his foot in his mouth this time. He gets into an all out War with the Dixie Chicks over there comments about Bush and the War in Iraq when it made him money from the Bush lovers but now that Bush is about as popular as bush on a gay cruise, he says that he doesn't support the war and that he "never did". And now he apparently wants to support Bill Richardson's campaign for the White House. I love the way this Jack Ass bailed on his boy Bush. Did I forget to mention that Toby Keith is a Jack Ass?

Hello all, Todays the day that we become Motorola.... They gave us all a bag of goodies. Thats ok I guess. Like a dummy, I volunteered to stay behind and work while everybody else got to go play at the meeting. Fun times.... So far nothing has changed, well except for us not being able to use our personal laptops for work anymore... Guess I should have expected that one. Kinda odd there being no more Symbol.

Me and John met with the builder yesterday and things are progressing quite nicely. They are gonna repaint the entire inside of the house and even change a color or two for us. We have been packing up everything that we think that were not gonna need.... Right, something tells me that by the end of next week I'll be opening a box or two...... I could be wrong but I might have too much clothes, at least that is what John tels me..... He is most probably right.

I'll do my best to update this here blog somewhat better....

WOW

All I can say is WOW.... If you haven't seen this you must. It is without a doubt the Strangest, Coolest, tripiest and at times funniest movie I have ever seen. It stars Keanu Reeves who I personally think is outstanding in this. Woah. The film also stars Winona Ryder, Woody Harrelson, Robert Downey, Jr. and Rory Cochrane. It is done in Rotoshop, a proprietary graphics editing program created by Bob Sabiston. This makes for a very weird feel.

OK, thats all the technical crap or at least as much as I want to talk about. I absolutely love this movie. In case you haven't figured this out, I'm a huge fan of Orwell (Animal Farm, 1984), Huxley (Brave New World, Island) and even a bit lesser Zamyatin (WE) so I was caught off guard that I hadn't wandered upon Phillip Dick. I know that This really doesn't belong in the same category as it doesn't deal with Utopian and all of that but I must say that the "Government" it very reminiscent of the "Thought Police" and similarly just as cruel. I might would describe this as Orwell meets Quentin Tarantino (Natural Born Killers).

If your looking for something thats a bit different then this is defiantly the movie for you.

Heck, I think even a Blam could get into this one. Well, Nobody dies a violent and grizzly death so that might be pushing it..... Gotta love a Blam...

An iNSANE update

What a week this has been

Thursday
Glad thanksgiving is over with. I worked all day Thursday and by all day I mean from 8:00 AM until 11:30 PM. It was ok though, Wal-Mart wont let us call the stores during these times due to them being very busy and all but we have to be here incase they call with problems. It turned out to be a pretty fun day until my powerbook died on me. wouldn’t you know that the apple care warranty is all used up so me and a co-worker figured we would go on ahead and work on it ourselves. Fun times for all there. It was pretty obvious that the hard drive went out by the squealing that sounds very much like the bearings on the hard drive. Let me say that apple builds there powerbooks very well as there wasn't even a centimeter of excess space. We got the hard drive out and I have a new one should be here in the morning. It wasn't as pricey as I thought it was either. Me and John made it over to my brother's place for some good vittles and family stuff. All in all, would have been a great day but for the lappy.

Friday
Since I worked 16 hours straight without much sleep, I stayed in bed until around noonish. The handy man didn't show up either to fix up the house prior to the sale. I waited for a while then made my way to John's parent’s house for the start of the game. LSU - Arkansas and it was a good one. I might even say great one (that might be stretching it a bit). Of course everybody there was in the hog gear and little ole me was all by myself in my purple and gold. I felt bad that Arkansas lost since they are having such a great season, but I only felt just a wee little bit bad. I was not really a big Les Miles fan when we hired him but I can't really say that now. He did a very smart thing in handing the defense over to Bo and has really let Russell do what he needs to do to win ball games. Can you believe that this is the first time LSU has had back-to-back 10 win seasons? Cool stuff. We finished off the day by doing a lot of decorating to John's parent’s house. Much better day....

Saturday
I spent most of the day back at John's parent’s house finishing up the decorating. We went out and played around a bit. I guess you could say that Saturday was pretty non-productive.

Sunday
Sunday started with a bang. The realtor called to say that she wanted to come by and show the house and all. Oops! I guess we should have spent Saturday cleaning up the house. We went into over drive getting the place ready and I think we pulled it off. I had to go to work after that and low and behold when I get there I check the web and LSU is now ranked 5th in the BSC. How you like them apples. Bam! It looks like CBS Sports line is projecting LSU to be in the Rose Bowl as well as ESPN. I kinda thought that we had a shot at maybe the Orange Bowl but I like the sound of LSU-Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Rock on.

By the way, I checked the status of my hard drive.........

So much for overnight shipping.

Well, good news all. My pops is doing good. It looks like the docs jumped the gun on the tumor thing and the heart thing is not as bad as they thought. So that’s good news. My car, ended up with a bent Axel, but I got it replaced and Insane's back in business. The house hunt is just about over, we found the perfect place up in Rogers, only we made the closing wait until after the new year. Went and had me some turkey and fixings, yummy. What a difference a week makes.

By the way, I just finished watching the new bond movie, Casino Royal and it rocks ass. The new Bond is hot as hell and not a bad actor by the way. I like the more hard and serious Bond. Looking forward to the next one...

Well, this has been a real crazy week so far and there is still the weekend to go.... Things started off ok. House hunting and all and we are starting to close in on what we are looking for. Then yesterday, blam... I get into a bit of an accident involving a curb and myself. I'm ok, my car took the brunt of it. Not too bad though, the rear rim is all busted up, but it will be up and running by morning. Then the real bad news hits. My pops had went in to the VA Hospital to get some test done, he got the results back and it looks like a tumor in his lungs and an aneurism on a blood vessel leading to his heart. Bad times. Not sure when he will get it worked on, the stupid VA scheduled him for the 27th of the month. That’s like almost 2 weeks away. They said if need be we can bring him to the emergency room and they will admit him so were thinking about doing that now..... 2 weeks? Well, like I said, not a great week. I'll update once I know some more....

I Did!!!!
I'm registered in the small community of Little Flock, Arkansas...... When I say small, it is small. But I must say that at 2:00 PM this afternoon there were quite a few peeps there doing there duty and casting there ballot. I did notice something kinda strange though... I was the only voter under the age of lets say 45-ish... I though, "Well, I'm out in the country, might not be many young people" and I felt good. Then I got to work and mentioned voting and 1 person said they either did vote or intended to and he was in his 50's. Now I'm a bit worried because I work with about 40 is or so people my age or younger. And I'm only 33.

What is wrong with my generation? Nobody cares about there community anymore. These same people turned out in droves for the 2004 presidential elections. Am I crazy or do the local politicians actually affect each of our lives more that the president does. Yeah, he makes the big decisions like War and spying and those things, but who makes decisions like which roads get fixed, or other more important issues that effect your daily lives? The local officials do. How can we change the world if we don't change our back yard?

Just a thought...

We really like these new row houses out by us. Who knows? My sis closes on her new House Friday so were all real happy for her. Were gonna go back to Dallas in a couple more weeks, fun times. lol. John's all excited about Game-day coming to Fayetteville and I guess I can't really blame him. Boy, that UA-LSU game in Little Rock is shaping up to be kinda special. Nothing else to report. I know, were not super exciting.

I have come to the realization that there are NO good people left out there.... OK, that might be a bit harsh.... But you have to admit it is getting harder and harder to tell what is what out there. I mean this Haggard guy; he was the president of a group of over 30 million Christians. Being a Christian my self, I know that people are after all human and prone to a laps in judgment every now and again. There is a big difference in making mistakes and doing what this bozo was doing.

This group that this guy headed, they are staunch supporters of banning gay marriage. Cool, you have your opinions and that’s ok. They say how us gays are sinners and they
actively try to make legislation to do this and that. They put it out there that we are bad and they are good people and all that stuff. Guess what? I'm in a relationship of 2 years, we are doing everything by the book. We have our moments like everybody else and maybe we could be much better peeps. However we are not out there condemning what ever vices that we ourselves take part in. You have never seen myself tell anybody that drinking is bad for you and that you shouldn't do it. Nope. Never have. That is why crap like this really pisses me off. I'm gonna go all Bill Maher on you now but how is this?

The best time of the year ever.....

I must say that I love this time of the year. The change of season is in full swing, leaves are turning, and there is a chill in the air. Football feels like football. Basketball is starting up. Baseball is finally over. The only bad thing would be Hockey.... :-( .... We get to wear all our new winter cloths. It is just fun right now.

Lets start with some football, how do you like yours? Pro or College? Pro, hey we are just about to the midway point, we got a couple of undefeated teams (Blah), and my Saints are 5-2. Kick ass, We got us a real QB and two pretty good running backs.... Life could be alot worse for my Saints. College you say? How bout them Tigers? Yeah, I know they dropped 2 road games. That sucks but you have to admit, they got the hardest road schedule in the league. The on game that I thought would be a sure thing is far from that. Arkansas has been on a tear since there loss to USC. We got us a big one this weekend with Tennessee up there. You go boys....

How bout your Basketball? Pro, I can't really say what team I root for. I root more for the players and the man Mr. Thomas from LSU is now a Bull so I guess I'll be a bull’s fan. College tickles your fancy? Let us talk about my LSU Tigers on both sides of the gender wall. I give mad props to the boys and do look forward to seeing you guys when you come up here to Fayetteville, but I love my girls..... This is gonna be your year...

Ok, its not that I dislike baseball, its just that there season last so damn long. Glad its over, and yes I hate me some Hockey so blah.

Hey all, just got back from Dallas... We had fun times.... John and Gregg's B-Day were quite memorable... The block party on Cedar Springs was defiantly memorable. I was a bit like Mardi Gras, not near as big though.... As soon as I get the pics I'll post them. We ran into loads of Fayetteville peeps which was pretty cool. Some even made it back from the party with more than there undies.... LOL.... We did plenty of shopping and we may have gotten a bartender at the W fired..... Long story.... Back to work....

Actor Chris Penn, probably best known for being Sean Penn's brother has died from unknown reasons. When I say probably best know for being Sean's brother, I say that to anybody in the world who has never seen his role as Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in "Reservoir Dogs" which is in my humble opinion his best role ever. With quotes like "Okay, first things fuckin' last!" he was the most likable bad boy ever. Heck, even Mr. Blonde liked him and we all loved Mr. Blonde. I'll be the first to admit when I first saw him in Footloose that I didn't think Willard would go very far but I was very wrong. I will miss Chris as he was one of the truly great Actors of our time. I know that the world has come along way, but you have to admit that there is still a ways to go. I have seen the racism on both ends in the IT world and quite recently as well. I am a white male, age 32, clean cut professional looking IT Professional. I have been on the board when prospective candidates come to interview for more that one company mind you. The way these boards usually work is to have either a manager or supervisor from several different aspects of the company such ass HR, server support, front end support, sometimes sales, you get the point. The purpose is to see several things like the knowledge of the candidate, how they handle pressure and what type of problem solving skills and people skills they have. I have seen very qualified candidates turned down in lieu of lesser qualified candidates and when you look back the only thing that sticks out in skin color. I heard a conversation once were management would actually discuss ways to decline candidates that would not appear to be racial. On the flip side, even though I am a white male, age 32, clean cut professional looking IT Professional, I am also a Gay white male, age 32, clean cut professional looking IT Professional and have been on the receiving end of this myself. I have been called back for several follow up interviews and while discussing salary and start dates, I would ask if they offered domestic benefits and would not ever be called back with a hire date or an explanation. Come on, your talking salary and hire dates and then you drop off the map. I must admit that I am quite lucky as I have learned not to ask such things until after I am hired or get a package and read all the fine print. I know that this might be viewed as cowardly or devious but a person has gotta eat. I can see how someone how is of a different race is not so lucky. I will admit that the IT Industry as a whole is much better that say oilfield or construction work. I do find that in the IT and for that much the "White Collar" world, there is a tendency to be much more coy in the discrimination. All I know is that it is 2006 and we need to wake up really fast.

Weather you agree or disagree with the politics behind this site or not, the idea that our elected officials are asking the public for assistance in governing our country. As an over 18 citizen of this great land I sincerely hope that this is a trend that will continue on both sides of the Isle. Could you imagine a day when not just get questions from pre selected people in a town hall style debate but really awesome questions from people across the land on message boards. Please encourage all your elected officials to at the very least set up blogs so they could get feedback in both directions that would at the very least keep some of the more out of touch politicians a bit more grounded to what is going on in there districts.

Battlestar Galactica

The second season of BSG resumes tonight. When we last say our favorite space ship times were dreadful. Galactica was sending a bunch of Marines over to Pegasus to "get my men" as Adama states and Starbuck is off on a secret recon mission that only Lee knows about. Oh also Lee is on the way to do the same on a much more dangerous mission due to the Admiral being a dunce. Oh yeah, Helo and the Chief are about to be executed and Galactica and Pegasus have the alert fighters on a collision coarse. Hey thanks for leaving us hanging for 3 months!!!! BTW, did anyone notice that the Pegasus crew are a bunch of dicks? Maybe it was just me. Praise to SciFi Channel for giving us geeks something to talk about.

Battlestar Galactica Rocks...............

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...... Scifi channel couldn't make anything worth a hoot and why would anybody want to remake that ole crappy series anyway. BULLSHIT..... First the original series is the reason myself and many, many more like myself got into scifi in the first place and therefore are now quazi computer geeks...... Starbuck was not only hot as hell but a hoot to boot....... lol. And second, well lets run this bye you for a bit and see if you would find it interesting........

Date: April 1st, 1945, NAZI Germany realizes that it has lost control of the war, One would think that they would fight to the end until Hitler surrenders or some other option happens. The Allied forces have the whole thing pretty much wrapped up. US and Soviet troops have linked up thus dividing German troops into two. From a military stand point there is no way that the Germans can win.

Date: April 2nd, 1945, Field Marshal Montgomery awakes to the news that the entire German force has vanished. Reports of the same are made all over Europe. Hitler has vanished along with every single last bit of resistance. The Allies force celebrates Victory in Europe and Japan falls without the US ever having to use the A-Bomb as they were caught off guard as well. The world is happy.

Span: April 3rd, 1945 to June, 1946, the world searches for what happened to the NAZI force and come up with nothing. The world makes all kind of reasons for this and of course none make sense.

Span: June, 1946 to December, 1986, Alabama just beat Washington 28-6 in the Sun Bowl. Brighton Beach Memoirs is just released and oh yeah, the world for the most part is having Christmas dinner and playing with there new toys. Ronald had met with Mikhail Gorbachev and told him tough shit about SDI and most things were pretty tense between the Russkies and the US and there world for the most part was scared shitless.

Date: December 25th, 1986, Time 1730 hours, you can remember that exact thing you are doing at that time. Your getting ready to head home from your Hubby's parents home and hopefully get away without your step Mom giving you a car full of left-overs. The drive isn't that bad, hop on US71 and head towards Fayetteville, AR. Bout 20 minutes south and your there. Sure enough "Mom" corners you in the kitchen and needless to say you go through the routine of making some to go plates. Hubby and "Dad" are in the living room watching the game when all is good in the world.

Date: December 25th, 1986, Time 1800 hours, The TV goes blank then static. You flip around and nothing, you turn on the radio and nothing but static there also. Then the lights go out. Now you start to get a bit worried. Hubby and "Dad" tell you and all the kids that there is nothing to worried about and they get on the phone to the Sheriff station. The phone is dead. Then you hear the loudest rumble you have ever heard. You run outside and you see a bright light coming from Fayetteville. Oddly enough it looks like a mushroom? Within a few minutes your dead along with your entire family and every person you have ever known.

Date: December 29th, 1986, Time 0948 hours, a sub that was stationed in the Indian Ocean gets a contact, its a group of ships the likes of witch they have never seen before. The crew is nervous as expected when form a far distance, the captain makes periscope depth and there in the cross hairs is a NAZI flag.

They have destroyed every city in America, the Soviet Union, just about every place possible and they were never noticed. How did it happen? How many ships are are there? Is there any one left on the planet to fight? Am I all that is left in the world to fight this new-old threat besides me?

Just remember that this was just the first 30 minutes of Battlestar Galactica. Substitute the Allied powers for the 12 colonies, the Germans for the Cylons, the lone Sub for the Battlestar Galactica and you got a start to an interesting new series. This show has everything from the end of humanity, war, love, deception, action, loads of hotties (Male and Female), treason, hero’s, tragedies and that was the first season. Don't pass this show up just because you don't like Scifi because this is possibly the best drama I have ever seen.

BTW: Time called it the best Show of 2005 period, gotta count for something.

I recently found that I am a bit naive in a wide array of matters. First I thought that while our government was capable of nasty things, there was no way possible that they could ever stoop as low at to spy on its own people. I mean my best friend and x-roommate is an x-navy seal so I know that big bad blue was capable of and for the most part did allot of naughty stuff and I really have no prob with that, hey what I don't know doesn't hurt me. However, I always that it was something like in Independence Day when the Prez said told the crazy quack (Julius Levinson) that Area 51 doesn't really exist and then Sec. Def Nimzicki that it did and the Prez asked how come he didn't know about it and he said plausible deniability? Well I'm ok with that because the Prez was not ever deceiving the public because he didn't know the truth. All good no harm no foul. Lots of stuff happen for good or bad and as long as the big guy isn't calling the shots, I'm somewhat ok. The Prez now admits that he is the one authorizing the illegal crap and that is very disturbing. You say that it shouldn't go on at all and weather he knew or not its wrong and I say correct it shouldn't happen at all. Lets be real, Iran-Contra bad, say what you will it save lives and avoided what at that time in history could have been a much nastier scuffle considering the big bad red dog was looking over Iran's shoulder and giving a helping hand. Well and bad thing happened and guess what, Ronnie could recall a thing about it, Ollie took the fall and we all went on like nothing happened because "the Prez didn't do anything illegal" ;-) Here the Prez openly admits to doing the bad stuff and is trying to claim that its legal which the entire world knows is false including him. I liked the days when stuff happened behind the backs of the people in power and now right out in the open. I say these are scary times. The US is the place where democracy rains supreme and peace and good will is had by all. I say this, I am no scholar but this isn't the type of peace and good will that I imagined back in civics class.

Never jump out and surprise old people. They could die on you. This is very important to remember especially when at work. I accidentally jumped out at someone at work and went "wah" and it turned out to be an elderly person and I thought I had given them a heart attack. Well thank the stars the old timer didn't kill over but it reminded me that I shouldn't do that any more.

Thanksgiving sucks!!!! Yeah I said it, not a huge fan. It’s not that I'm some type of scrooge or something, but I just hate Turkey. It doesn't taste good and dressing sucks. Why does everyone have to eat turkey, why not hot dogs? They are tasty..... Yum!!!! with some chili n cheese....... sweet nectar of the gods. Turkey is a "bird" so they say but it gobbles. the birds that I know take offense to that. No for me this Thanksgiving, it will be hot dogs for everybody. Well, hot dogs and chili and cheese.........

Hurricane Katrina

Hello all. This is my first post from this blog. I am by far no expert blogger so I will not try and act like it. I am from Louisiana and like everybody what has happened in New Orleans and most recently Southwest Louisiana has really left me in shock. I loved New Orleans and continue to do so. I pray they rebuile New Orleans and keep the local flavor that has allways attracted me there. I lived in there for a short while, actually in Kenner, and will always consider it a second home. These are some pics that I rounded up from that area. I just can't belive that Mardi Gras might be in a different place next year.
